One day rate per lane and season. Each rate already includes Plus cover (excess ISK 150,000 with Gravel & Glass, Sand & Ash and Tyre Protection) and the statutory road-use charge. The pickup date sets the season; your exact quote is confirmed before you commit.

The month of pickup sets the band for the whole rental. Models vary within each lane and are confirmed at booking (the usual Icelandic "or similar" practice).
Longer rentals cost less per day
The ladder is printed, not negotiated. It applies to the rental part of the day rate; the road-use charge is a statutory pass-through and is never discounted.
- 7 days or more: 5% off the day rate
- 14 days or more: 10% off the day rate
- 21 days or more: 15% off the day rate
Example: a 10-day rental takes the 7-day rate; a 21-day rental takes the 21-day rate for all 21 days.
Road-use charge (kílómetragjald)
Iceland charges every rental car a statutory daily road-use fee. We show it inside every day rate above and itemise it on your quote: ISK 1,575 per started rental day — the ISK 1,390 official daily fee plus ISK 185 administration. Tunnel tolls, parking and national-park fees are paid by you directly.

Plus — included in every price
Ring Road Cars' own damage waiver: your excess for covered damage is ISK 150,000, with Gravel & Glass, Sand & Ash and Tyre Protection bundled and Theft Protection included. Mandatory third-party liability insurance is in every rental. Exclusions apply and are listed on the cover page.
Zero Excess — the one optional upgrade
Takes your covered-damage excess to ISK 0 for +ISK 5,250 per day. Opt-in only — never pre-selected. Some damage stays excluded on every level (water crossings, underbody, off-road use, wrong fuel).
