BASIC + SCDW included — excess €1,000
On our website every price includes BASIC + SCDW, which lowers your excess for covered damage from €3,000 to €1,000. Optional upgrades: add Tire and Windshield Protection (TWP) for €20 a day for the cover of PLUS, or choose MAX for €40 a day: excess €0, TWP and Sand and Ash Protection (SAP) included, and wheels and tires covered too (not damage only to suspension, batteries, roof or radios). No cover option covers undercarriage or water damage.
Winter tires in season
Fitted on every car from 1 November to 14 April, at no extra charge.
Keflavík Airport shuttle
Included during opening hours (04:00–20:00): call or WhatsApp us when you have your bags and we pick you up outside the arrivals hall. Our office is about 10 minutes from the terminal.
Meet-up details confirmed before travel
Give us your flight number; after-hours pickups and returns are only on request, agreed in advance.
Documented condition record
At pickup you walk around the car and we send you our photos and 360° video. Any damage charge comes with written notice, photos and the repair estimate or invoice first (rental terms, clauses 10 and 13).
N1 fuel discount
An N1 fuel-discount tag on your keyring gives a discount when you fill up at N1 stations.

Only if approved — F-roads, Kjölur (road 35 from road 37 to road 732), Kaldidalur (550), Öxi (939) and roads 586 and 864 are allowed only in a four-wheel-drive vehicle (4x4, 4WD or AWD) that your booking confirms as F-road approved, and only when officially open (F-roads usually open in June or early July and close again from around mid-September). Excluded even then: F26, F88, F225, F249, F910 and the other F-roads listed in clause 16 of the rental terms. Check umferdin.is / Vegagerðin for current status before heading into the highlands.

Rivers are entirely at your own risk — driving into or across any river, stream or ford, even on a permitted F-road, with any vehicle or cover option. No waiver covers water damage: you pay the repair, or the car's value, plus towing (rental terms, clause 17). If water covers the road, stop and wait or turn back.

Can a Comfort SUV handle the full Ring Road?
Yes — the Comfort category is a strong all-rounder for the full Ring Road. AWD gives you confidence on gravel sections and in changing conditions. Route 1 is paved all the way around, and this category is suited for it year-round.
Can I take a Comfort SUV on F-roads?
Yes, once your booking confirms the car as F-road approved: F-roads, Kjölur (road 35 from road 37 to road 732), Kaldidalur (550), Öxi (939) and roads 586 and 864 are then allowed, but only when officially open — F-roads usually open in June or early July and close again from around mid-September. Tell us about F-road plans when you book so the booking can confirm it. Even an approved car may not use the excluded F-roads, including F26 (Sprengisandur), F225 (Landmannaleið), F88 and F910 (Askja) and F249 (Þórsmörk) (rental terms, clause 16). Comfort is all-wheel drive with medium ground clearance; for rougher F-roads, the 4×4 Adventure and Highland 4×4 have more clearance. Rivers are entirely at your own risk, and no waiver covers water damage (rental terms, clause 17).
Is a Comfort SUV good for winter driving in Iceland?
Yes — AWD plus winter tires (included in season) makes the Comfort category a solid winter choice on Route 1 and most paved roads. For remote winter tracks or the Westfjords in deep winter, a 4×4 Adventure gives additional clearance.
Does the road-use charge show up in the Comfort SUV price?

Can I drive the Westfjords in a Comfort SUV?
Yes, on paved and compacted gravel roads. The Westfjords road network is mostly navigable by a Comfort SUV in summer. Some very remote tracks are better suited to a 4×4 Adventure; check umferdin.is for current conditions.
