Extras and what's included
Every rental comes with the essentials below. Add what you need when you book or at the desk. Prices include VAT and are charged per started rental day unless shown otherwise.
Included in every rental
- BASIC + SCDWCollision damage cover with a €1,000 excess (the most you pay for covered damage). Optional: add Tire and Windshield Protection to get PLUS, or choose MAX to take your excess to zero.
- Theft WaiverIncluded in every rental at no charge, when the car was locked with the windows closed, the keys are returned and the theft is reported without delay.
- No deposit, just a card holdAt pickup we hold your excess on your card (€1,000 with the included cover) and release it after the return; with MAX nothing is held at pickup. Damage no cover option includes, such as water or undercarriage damage, is charged in full, and a hold of up to €10,000 may be placed for it after the return inspection.
- Unlimited mileageDrive the whole Ring Road twice if you like.
- Winter tires in seasonFitted on every car from 1 November to 14 April, at no extra charge.
- N1 fuel discountAn N1 fuel-discount tag on your keyring gives a discount when you fill up at N1 stations.
- Airport shuttleIncluded during opening hours (04:00–20:00). Call or WhatsApp us when you have your bags; our office is about 10 minutes from the terminal.
- 24/7 phone and WhatsAppOne number, day and night: +354 779 9499. A breakdown you didn't cause is fixed free, including towing and a replacement car.
Road-use charge€10.50 per started rental day, on top of the day rate: shown next to every price and added as its own line in your quote.

Per extra named driver. Every driver needs a valid license held for at least one year.
4G WiFi device

Stay online for maps and calls; one device connects several phones.
Infant seat (0–13 kg)

For toddlers, about 1–4 years.

For children about 4–12 years; in Iceland every child under 135 cm needs a suitable seat.
Extra cover
Tire and Windshield Protection
€20/day
A replacement tire when only the tire is damaged, or a front windshield damaged by gravel from another vehicle, at €0 (the part only). Added to the included cover, it makes PLUS.
Sand and Ash Protection
€15/day
Covers sand and ash damage, a real risk on the South Coast and in the east when it's windy, except in an area under an orange or red wind warning.
Roadside Assistance Protection
€10/day
In an emergency: call-out, labor and recovery for a flat battery, a puncture or a lock-out, at €0. Without it, the towing rate from our office applies.
MAX
€40/day
Excess €0, and no hold on your card at pickup. Includes Tire and Windshield Protection and Sand and Ash Protection.

Snow chains and GPS
- Snow chainsWe don't supply chains: every car has winter tires from 1 November to 14 April, which is what drivers in Iceland normally use. You may bring your own. Icelandic rules allow chains when there is snow or ice on the road, but not where they would damage the road surface, and not from 15 April to 31 October unless conditions require them (vehicle regulation 822/2004, art. 16.02). From November to March we strongly recommend an AWD or 4×4 car.
- GPS unitsNot offered as an extra. Some of our cars have built-in navigation that is free to use, but its maps may not be the latest version, and we can't promise it on a particular car. Your phone's maps work well; add the 4G WiFi device to stay online for maps, road conditions (umferdin.is) and weather warnings (vedur.is).
